Our Weekend (and Monday)

We had  great weekend together! It was one of those weekends where we were able to have a pretty even balance of rest, work, church, and family time.

IMG_3273After the farmer's market on Saturday morning, J. (my sidekick for the morning) and I did a little bit of grocery shopping before going home. It is a whole lot easier to shop with only 1 child along (S. stayed home with Nick), and one of the grocery stores that I stopped at have a couple of these spots in their parking lot. I have to say, this is ingenious, and it helps me tremendously when I shop there, especially since they place a cart corral right next to the parking space.

Breakfast PizzaI was pretty hungry, as was Nick, when J. and I got home, so together we made up this breakfast pizza. It hit the spot. We used turkey bacon and turkey ham on it, and the flavors were really good. Both the turkey ham and turkey bacon were on sale and cheaper at the store than their regular counterparts, so that is why we had it in the house. I kept grabbing slices throughout the afternoon since it was so good. It had a biscuit crust, white pepper sauce, turkey ham, turkey bacon, scrambled eggs, and cheddar cheese. Nick made sure to let me know we'd have to do this again sometime soon.

We had a rough night with the boys on Saturday night, so we all finally got some sleep Sunday morning. Unfortunately this meant we missed the first service for church. If we don't go to the first service, then the boys can get really cranky during the second service. So, instead of risking cranky boys, we decided to stay home the rest of the morning and go to church for the evening service. In the meantime, Nick and I got out the masking tape and primer to work some more on our stairwell. (No, the stairs are not yellow, it is just bad lighting). IMG_3280This has been a work in progress for quite some time, and we're slowing getting everything done as we have the time. Sunday morning/afternoon was perfect for this project. The boys were content to watch some Veggie Tales, which freed me to be able to tape out the stairs, and it gave Nick the opportunity to start putting a coat of primer on the wood we needed to paint. This was quite fun for Nick and I because usually I'm watching the boys while he works on the house projects, and we don't get to hardly work together anymore. We talked while we worked. It took me a long while to do the taping, so I'm glad I was able to help Nick. Otherwise he wouldn't have gotten much done if he'd have had to do that too.

Soap orders. On Monday, first things first, always get the soap packages ready to mail! We love having orders come in during the week or weekend, it doesn't matter. If I have them ready in time, Nick can take them to work with him, and the shipping department at his work will send out our packages with theirs! This saves me trips to the post office. We've been selling a lot of soap on our website.

Pregnant and painting.I got in the mood to do some painting while Nick was away at work, so I donned my face mask  and got a coat of primer spread on while the boys took their naps. Please excuse the crazy hair. Not sure why, but I just had the urge to paint something, and I knew it would help Nick to get ahead a little more.

Little boy and a tireThis little boy loves to play outside. He decided to push a spare tire we had on our porch, showing off his strength. We just love him a whole lot! As much as most people hate Mondays, I love Mondays. That may be crazy, but it is the day that our house gets back in order from our busy weekends, and the boys normally take great naps as well as play together better on Mondays than they do any other day of the week. Speaking of boys, J. has been taking all sorts of steps on his own today. Now, we just need to catch him on camera. That little man is 13 months old, so maybe he'll be toddling around better by 14 months.

Anyways, that sums up our time together for the last 3 days.

How was your weekend? Got any house projects you're working on and want to brag about?
