16 Weeks Pregnant (Baby #4)

This is going to be short and sweet this week because we were super busy, and now I am super tired and ready for bed. But, in case you were curious, here's what went on in our pregnancy this week!

How Far Along: 16 weeks 6 days (Picture taken at 16w 2d)

How I'm Feeling This Week: Had a few days of morning sickness return, but it wasn't too bad. And my energy level has been awesome! I haven't felt like I needed a nap at all this week. Overall, a good week.

Braxton Hicks Contractions: Only one or two that I remember.

Food Cravings: Oddly, I wanted a meatball sub sandwich, which I haven't had yet. In fact, I've never had one, so why my body thinks this would be a good thing, I don't know. I guess that I like all the components, but I've never wanted one before! Pregnancy does strange things to you.

Aversions: Only to my hair mousse. Good thing I don't use it too often!

Pregnancy Symptoms: I've never shared all of my pregnancy symptoms before, since a lot of them have to do with certain parts of my body that I don't normally mention in public, but I now know of 5 women who are pregnant within a month of my due date, and in case they want to know what is normal for other women who are pregnant at the same stage as they are, I'm going to post some of my symptoms. Or, if anyone is clueless about what REALLY goes on in pregnancy, this section will be for you!
I didn't have sore breasts during the first trimester at all, but once the second trimester hit, they've been sore every day! I can tell that I'm slowly growing from a AA cup into A. (Bet you didn't even know they made bra sizes that small!)
Other symptoms are: bleeding gums while brushing my teeth, weird vivid dreams, sporadic morning sickness, darkening areola, and constipation occasionally.

Doctor/Midwife Appointment: None this week.

Weight Gain So Far:
We went to a wedding this past weekend, and were sucked into the festivities (family in town, rehersal dinner, eating out, wedding food, etc.) so I ate a LOT! But, I started to curb my calorie intake once life got back to normal on Monday.

Starting weight: 119 lbs.
Last Week's Weight: 128 lbs.
Today's Weight: 129 lbs.
Goal Weight Range for This Pregnancy: High: 154 lbs.     Low: 144 lbs.

Regular or Maternity Clothes: Regular. Things are getting tighter each week. Won't be long until I will need to succomb to maternity clothes.

Starting to Show: Still only a little bump so far. It's small and barely noticeable in the morning, but grows a bit before night. Not sure why that happens, but it does, every day.

Boy or Girl: Not sure! Anatomy scan scheduled for week 20. Nick's getting excited to find out, and I'm excited for him (but I still don't want to know until the end!).

Baby Movement: Back to feeling only little movements this week. Some days I'd start to worry because I hadn't felt anything for a while, and then the next day I'd feel slight flutters. Nick can now feel our baby when he lays his hand on my abdomen. I know that a lot of women still don't feel their baby's movements at this time, so I'm fortunate that we both can feel our baby now. Feeling the baby kicks are a reassuring feeling to know baby is still growing.

Size of Baby: He/She weighs 3 1/2 ounces, and is around 4 1/2" long. About the size of an avacado. So I gained a pound this week, and only an ounce of that was the baby gaining weight!

Pregnancy Thoughts this Week: Just been thinking a lot about whether we'll make it full term with this baby or not. We really hope to make it to at least 37 weeks. I've been reading a lot of articles about using a 17P shot or other progesterone treatments to help get a pregnancy to term. As far as Nick and I continue with the pelvic rest, I don't think we'll have a problem with early labor this time around.
