Boy or Girl? and Free Soap Giveaway

There are lot of fun ways to guess the gender of an unborn baby, and Nick and I have been finding a few of those ways to try and guess what we are having. Of course, there is always a 50/50 chance, and only upon having Baby #3 will we be able to know for sure whether the baby is a he or she.

Mayan Gender Prediction: The rules are that if you take the age of the mom when the baby was conceived and the year the baby is conceived in, the baby will be predicted to be a boy if it is one odd and one even number, but if both numbers are odd or both numbers are even, then the baby is supposed to be a girl. For instance, I am 29 years old, and the baby was conceived in 2013. Being that both my age and the year of conception are odd numbers, that means Baby #3 is predicted to be a GIRL.

Duck tail on J.The Hairline of the Next Oldest Sibling: I had never heard of this one until last week, but if the hairline at the back of the head of your last child comes to a "V" shape or a "duck tail", you are predicted to be having a girl. So far, S. had a straight hairline at the back of his head and J. came out a boy. Now J. has a "duck tail", so this next baby is predicted to be a GIRL

Chinese Gender PredictorChinese Gender Prediction Calendar: A chart like this one tells you how to use information to predict the gender. For this particular calander, they took the age of the mother at the time of conception and the month that the baby was conceived and figured out the gender from that. According to the Chinese Prediction Calendar, we are predicted to expect a GIRL.

Carrying High or Low: I'm too early in the pregnancy to determine a belly placement, but it feels to me like I'm rounding out higher than I did with the boys. Maybe just wishful thinking. BOY or GIRL

Round or Bullet Shaped, Carrying in Front or Visible From Behind: With my boys, I didn't have any distinct shape to my belly or body in general, and with this pregnancy its way too early to tell. BOY or GIRL

Craving Sweets or Salty Foods: If you crave sweets, it's a girl, if you crave salty snacks, it's a boy. Since I've never had the same craving twice in any of my pregnancies, and this pregnancy is being the same way, I can't determine from this method. Sometimes I want sweets, other times I want something savory or salty. BOY or GIRL

Baking Soda Test: This involves pouring some urine of the pregnant woman over baking soda. If it fizzes a lot, its a boy. If it does little or nothing, it's a girl. I haven't done this...yet. BOY or GIRL

Wedding Ring Test: This involves suspending a ring over the belly of the mom-to-be with a piece of string or a hair. The way it spins or jumps determines boy or girl. I'm freaked out by the thought of this test, so I've never tried it in any of my pregnancies. BOY or GIRL

Clear Skin or Breakouts: Having a boy generally gives a pregnant mom clear, beautiful skin, but having a girl can mean zits and breakouts. It is said that being pregnant with a girl, the girl steals her mother's beauty. My face is breaking out, which I do not remember with the boys, and the only reason my skin normally breaks out is if I use one of our soaps that are too moisturizing for my face, which I know I haven't used. Prediction: GIRL

Prediction Tally: BOY-5  GIRL-9
